I've been lucky to train with some very exceptional athletes over the years, and my friend Aaron Royle is no exception. He recently finished 6th in the Rio Olympic Test event and in the process ensured his place on the start line next year at the Olympics. After a difficult start to the season I think he knew that Rio favoured his abilities, and he had the confidence he would be ready to meet the demands of competition. Here's his report on the event.
Special bday shoutout to my buddy Andrew Russell! We trained and raced together for a number of years and it's been a blast cycling and hanging out with him again since I've been back in Victoria. 33 is just a number man! ;)
Had a great time volunteering at the Victoria Youth Triathlon yesterday. A beautiful day and a record breaking 300 kids out there racing. Brought back some good memories from when I raced back in the day.
"There's an old saying that says you're never as bad as everyone says and you're never as good as everyone says."
Great quote from a special interview with Carey Price. From his humble roots in Anahim Lake, BC to Olympic Gold in Sochi and now an upcoming Stanley Cup playoff run. There's so much maturity and experience in his words. I highly recommend you check it out. Definitely a leader in and outside of his sport.
